"When you meet, your senses are submerged, your heart recognises someone you know from a long time ago in your evolution. The wise eyes hold your attention, seeing you within and without, the presence is unique and listens attentively in a way that no one else has ever done before.
You bare your soul and by acute observations of your thoughts and emotions the teacher can change your life. You reach out and touch the loving face, feel the warm breath on your hands, stroke the soft body.
You are saved.
This guide is your horse, and all horses in the world."
Connecting with horses by
Margrit CoatesHere you can take a look at this book.
I have just ordered this book. It sounds great. I have 'Healing for Horses' already. Thanks for the recommendation.
VastaaPoistaYes, thanks for the recommendation - my copy arrived today, and I'm taking it to the beach with me this weekend!
VastaaPoistaWow, we will all be reading it at the same time! Please do come and tell what you think of it.
VastaaPoistaFrustratingly, mine won't arrive in time for my holidays, as we are off tomorrow. However, my husband came back from the US with two interesting books for me: Dressage in the 4th Dimension and 'Saddled' by Susan Richards. Both look as if they will give me lots to think about.
VastaaPoistaI really like the book, Jen-ska - it emboldens me to think more boldly.
VastaaPoistaI like that she tells you how not to "give leadership away," but also says that it doesn't really matter if you do. I'm going to write about the book, and a couple of others, on my blog.
VastaaPoistaThe concept of "inter-species communication" is kind of radical, but I'm coming round to it. I mean, I already act on intuitions as to how to treat the horses - so maybe they could impart more specific information such as what has happened to them in the past.
What do you think?
My beliefs are constantly changing, atm I do believe that animals can somehow send us feelings or maybe even some sort of images but I am really sceptical about these animal communicators, I don't think they can always understand correctly those images they receive (or don't receive..).
VastaaPoistaThis book has given me reassurance in many things I have felt, explains many experiences and puts in writing a lot of knowledge I think horses have written straight to my heart, not through my brains.
One thing it makes me constantly aware of: we are the dumbest of all living creatures.
Wait a minute. The thing about giving leadership away is a different book - Zen Connection with Horses by Jenny Pearce. I've been reading so many books lately, I'm getting mixed up! The inter-species communication theme is common to both books though.
VastaaPoistaI agree - I'm sceptical also about animal communicators. But you put it very well when you say "knowledge horses have written straight to my heart, not through my brains." That's exactly how I feel I've come to understand certain important things about the horses.
I'd love to hear more about that book too, I've been thinking of getting it too (when I've finished all these that I'm in the middle of right now..)!
