Olga is now living solo because she eats different hay than the others. She will be getting visitors from the other side (of the fence!) or maybe even someone special, we'll see about that later. Luckily she does not mind living like this, she still feels like part of the herd.
This is Olga's new "studio apartment", the hole in the wall is for scratching with her friends. It is very important that they get to scratch each others so that they stay connected.
This is her new hay feeder which she hated at first. Now that she has understood that this way her hay will not run out, she is more at ease. She also has one hay net hanging from a tree, I made it of some kind of golf net.
Olga had her meal a bit later than the others yesterday, her neighbours seemed to be somewhat jealous ;)

The "hole in the wall" is a wonderful idea - all stables should do that! The hay feeder is cool. What's the difference in the kind of hay she gets?
VastaaPoistaShe gets low-sugar hay. I added a pic of her golf-hay-net too :)
VastaaPoistaDo you keep hay in the feeders at all times? The haynet looks like it has a small mesh and seems a good height for Olga.

We are in the process of changing hay and feeding system so we have to be extra careful now to check that she gets enough to eat. It's much nicer that way though, earlier it was the other way around, worrying she'd be eating to much of that not-so-low-on-sugar hay.
VastaaPoistaThis golf net has quite small mesh, I put 4,5 kgs of hay there the other night at 7 pm and there was still some left at 7 am so that is great! I am not sure if the other feeder will work, we tested it with old hay (that had to be soaked) and she did not eat it BUT she also had some in the net so maybe she just prefers that one. Have to test it with new hay still.
I am planning to put one more net between two trees in the lower part of her paddock, like this one:

That material actually looks like this net I am using too. Hope it is the same, as I've heard it is really durable.
